Knox Roofing was founded in 2021 with a clear vision: to revolutionize the Dallas-Fort Worth roofing industry through quality-focused, hands-on project management. In a market where state licensing isn't required, founder Dakota Carson recognized the critical need for a roofing company that would prioritize both craftsmanship and customer education.

What began in a modest office space has transformed into a 4,000-square-foot facility housing our state-of-the-art sheet metal shop. This 2023 expansion marked a pivotal moment, enabling us to bring metal fabrication in-house and maintain complete quality control over every project. Today, we proudly serve high-end custom home builders throughout DFW and have earned over 200 five-star Google reviews from satisfied homeowners.

Meet Dakota Carson

Founder & Owner

Dakota Carson founded Knox Roofing in 2021 with a straightforward conviction: that a Texas roofing market without licensing requirements still deserved contractors who acted as if it did. Frustrated by an industry where cut corners and customer confusion were the norm, Dakota built Knox around hands-on project management, transparent communication, and an unwavering commitment to exceeding code and manufacturer specifications. In 2023, he expanded Knox into a 4,000-square-foot facility housing an in-house sheet metal shop — a move that gave the team complete quality control over every flashing, cap, and custom piece that leaves the shop. Today, Dakota leads a team of eight core professionals serving high-end custom home builders and homeowners across DFW — and stands behind every one of the 200+ five-star reviews that followed.

Starting with just three dedicated professionals, Knox Roofing has grown to a team of eight core members, not including our skilled installation crews. MJ

Office Manager

MJ runs the office side of Knox Roofing — the part most homeowners interact with first. From the initial estimate request through scheduling, billing, and the final follow-up call, she keeps the moving pieces aligned so projects feel calm even when the calendar isn't. Before joining Knox, MJ spent years coordinating high-volume customer service for a regional construction firm, and she brings the same disciplined, no-detail-too-small approach to every client interaction. If your call gets answered the same day, that's MJ.

Stacey

Operations Manager

Stacey runs operations at Knox Roofing — the bridge between what gets quoted in the office and what gets built on the roof. She schedules crews, manages materials and vendor coordination, and walks active jobsites to catch issues before they reach the homeowner. With more than a decade in residential and commercial construction operations, Stacey brought the production discipline that lets Knox handle complex multi-trade projects without dropping a beat. If a crew shows up on time with the right materials, that's Stacey's work.
